Harry was both professional and responsive to our guests. He was well prepared and gave our event with his uplighting a special touch. He was especially attentive to the bride and groom's desires and wishes and kept our guests laughing and having fun. I highly recommend HG Enertainment. |

Do you scratch records?
No. Not since 1986.
Will You work with Red Sox fans?
I'll do my best... but I am a dedicated YANKEE fan.
What's your favorite food?

Are you a justice of the peace?

How much do you charge and why?
It depends on the date, type of event, location, duration, number of guests, etc. I provide an extremely customized service for you. The value I bring to your event, will far exceed the price you pay. Before you decide on the least expensive DJ, think about how much of an influence a disc jockey has on the success of your event.
How much is the retainer and when is the balance due?
The retainer amount can be up to 1/2 of the fee. The remaining balance is due two weeks (fourteen days) before the event by check, cash, or money order only. Credit cards can be accepted anytime up to 2 weeks prior to an event. This policy is in place to assure you don't have to worry about carrying payments to your event so you can relax and enjoy your event.
What if we need to cancel our event?
The retainer fee is non-refundable. It can, however be applied towards a future booking within one year if we have the date available.
Do you take personal checks?
A personal check can be accepted for any payment up to two weeks (fourteen) days before an event.. A personal check cannot be accepted less than two weeks (fourteen) days before the event. No personal checks can be accepted on the day of an event.
Can you "hold" dates for someone?
Due to popular demand, all dates are on a first come, first served basis. If you've called or emailed about a particular date and it is open, someone else can also contact us and reserve it. However, once we agree on a fee and we give you a written price quote, that date is held for you for a period of one (1) day. It's a good idea to bring a checkbook to our meeting because I have found that many times a client will want to reserve a date only to have someone else reserve it shortly after they have left my office. If I do receive your retainer and signed agreement by the deadline, the date is all yours and you don't have to worry about the entertainment anymore!
After we hire you for our wedding, when do we meet to go over all the final details?
Ideally, I would like to have all the final details for your event three weeks (21 days) before your reception. This includes all song requests. This gives me adequate time to arrange your event and locate the songs if they are not in my library.
Why should we hire you? Anyone can play music.
A DJ should do more than simply play music. The DJ brings out the personality of the event. He adds to the atmosphere. He must be experienced enough to constantly adjust throughout the event to assure everyone has a good time. Why me? Because of my years of experience, personalized service, attention to detail, energy and enthusiasm, extensive collection of the best party music of all time, and my ability to read a crowd.
I have a friend who will DJ my wedding for $675. Can you beat it?
No I can't beat that. To my knowledge, I know of no professional DJ that has the expensive professional equipment, music library and experience to host a successful wedding within this price range. If there is one, I'd like to hire him for my HG Entertainment client picnic!
Is your music collection 100% legal?
Yes. With the advent of illegal file-sharing on the Internet, it can be easy for an individual to simply download all the songs they want and start a DJ business. I am a legitimate and professional Disc Jockey service. All of my music was (and is) hand selected and purchased and owned by me.
All The DJ's I talked to sound alike!
All DJ's are not alike. Believe me. As with any service, there are inferior, average, and above average levels. The real difference is personality and
professionalism. Only you can tell what DJ is right for you based on your needs and budget. The differences will become apparent to you as you speak with the DJ one-on-one. Oh yes... I am the above average level.
Do you provide a written contract?
Absolutely. I will outline all of the entertainment related information that we have agreed upon in an easy to read contract. This will protect you the client, as well as me the provider of excellent DJ services. I also carry liability insurance for your protection.
Will you stay in touch with us?
Yes. I check in with you about once a month leading to your event. I am incredibly easy to contact. Emails are replied to ASAP. You can always call me. And, my site is open 24/7.
What kind of music do you provide?
I provide Big Band, Disco, Classic Rock, Popular Rock, Top 40, Swing, Jazz, Dance, Techno, Country, Disco, Ethnic, Latin, Popular, Motown, etc., in addition to all hottest hits out today. All together, I have thousands of the best songs to play for any event. All seamlessly blended to assure a great time!
Will you send a "substitute" DJ?
No. I have great pride in my performance. I do not sub-contract. You are asking for me to be your DJ and you will be assured I will be there. I do not think it is ethical to have a different DJ show up unexpectedly at their event after it has already been agreed that I will be there. To me, that is bad business practice. A substitute DJ can only be utilized for your protection in a health or family emergency.
Can we pick out music for our event?
Of course!! You can pick out some or all of your songs. Or, you can leave it up to my years of experience to blend the right selects for your specific event. I actually enjoy getting lists from my clients. (In order to give me the best possible chance of obtaining requests for your event, I'd need to get a final request list from my clients at least 21 days before the event date. I cannot guarantee availability of a song requested too close to an event if I do not currently own it.)
Can you play songs from YouTube or other online video provider?
Unfortunately no. We cannot legally rip, or extract music from a video for business use. According to the RIAA, it is illegal. We cannot stream a video during an event. Only songs that are commercially available for legal purchase through services like Itunes or Amazon or other Dj music provider/pool should be selected for an event. See guidelines here: http://www.riaa.com/resources-learning/about-piracy/
Do you carry backup equipment?
YES!! I bring a full backup sound system and music to each and every event. I feel ALL DJ's should have backup equipment with them at all times for your peace of mind. If a service claims to have their backup a "phone call away," run as fast as you can! I even have a battery-powered PA system as needed.
Can we meet with you before our event?
Absolutely. I understand circumstances may prevent you from having the chance. That's why I offer complete access to your event planning via my Real-Time web based software. I'm always available in-person, by telephone, and email. Whatever it takes to get the planning completed to your satisfaction, I will do. Oh yes, I also have a comfortable office for you to visit too!
Do you do more than play music?
I love to do more but only if it's OK with you. In addition to the extensive pre-event planning you will receive, I can teach the newest line dances, host contests, bring party props/favors, add trivia games, perform skits, help with raffles, perform all your formalities and make announcements. I even make sure the champagne is poured before a toast. Some parties don't need all this interaction. Some clients don't want it. But, it's good to know I can provide this for you if needed. And, I enjoy it.
Do you take (and play) requests?
Yes and no. Yes, I take requests that are danceable. I keep track of requests and will play them at appropriate times during the event. And no, I won't play anything inappropriate or offending or containing vulgarity (especially if there are children at the event). I try to play as many requests as possible. But, there are times when there simply is not enough time to play them all. Or, the client may advise me not to play certain songs.
Do you provide music and mic(s) for a ceremony?
Yes. As long as the weather is okay for delicate electronic/electrical equipment. This is for our safety and your guests safety. Even a 50% chance of rain may interfere with our ability to provide equipment.
Do we have to feed you?
You're not required to. But, if you offer, I'd be happy to accept. Keep in mind that most events take me, the DJ, away from home from 8 to 10 hours.
Do we have to tip you?
You're not required to. I price my events at the professional level. However, if you feel my service (or any other vendor) has performed over and beyond your expectations, then it is at your discretion.
Can we come and see you in action at a party or reception?
Unfortunately no. I do not think it is appropriate to invite potential clients to my current clients' events. I respect their right to privacy. Since every clients taste's are different, you may view an event and think, "this DJ is not my style," when in reality, the DJ may simply be complying with the wishes of that particular client. I have a video page that you can visit HERE
Do you take breaks?
No. Not unless you want or require me to. The music is non-stop!!
Can we (or a guest) give you a CD, Phone, or other device to play?
For the most part, the answer is yes. I cannot control the content or quality of what might be on a CD, phone, or thumb-drive given to us. There is also the added chance of possible damage to my equipment by a damaged CD. So, you are welcome to give me the music to test for quality and content before the event. We do not carry CD players or tape decks to events any longer.
Do you provide uplighting, pinspot lighting, architectural lighting and decor lighting?
Yes! We do a fantastic job designing the right lighting package to make your party location look even more fantastic.
What kind of equipment do you use?
It is all top of the line professional DJ equipment. My sound systems are composed of top of the line Rane, Numark, or computerized. My speakers are powered QSC's and Yorkville. My microphones are UHF Shure UT Series and Gemini UHF as well as corded mics. With brand names like these you get a great sounding system. It is fully digital anti-skip technology. The sound is fantastic. The volume will always be the way you prefer it. All this housed in neat, clean cases. I even bring my own stand and table beautifully draped with my own skirting.
What if you get sick?
In my eyes, the show must go on. In the remote possibility that an emergency prevents me from getting to your event, I am happy to say that I have a full backup plan. My wife and I have access to backup DJ's phone numbers at all times. I network and trust a few very professional DJ's. I will contact them and work with you to make sure your event is a complete success if ever needed. All of your event paperwork is safe-guarded and backed up.
Are you available for overtime?
I want to keep the fun going for as long as you want. I can work beyond my contracted time if my schedule allows, and if you the client have agreed to this overtime with the function facility. Payment (if applicable) for overtime must be at the start of the overtime in cash or certified check only. No credit cards.
Do you provide music lists at the event?
I am proud to say that I have an extensive and up to date database of my music on laptop computer. It is brought to every event. It gives me the ability to search for any request in seconds for your guests. This is much faster, easier, and professional. No more messy paper and binders in the DJ area.
Everything sounds great! How do we hire you?
It's easy. I will discuss your event and your needs and we'll agree on a fee. I'll give you an agreement/contract. Simply sign it and return it with your retainer by the date indicated on your agreement/contract. I will notify you upon receipt that your entertainment has now been confirmed. From there, I'll stay in touch with you and help you with the planning process leading to your event. It's that easy.
Absolutely!
Will you tell my guests to "throw their hands in the air"?
Never.
